Jan Marie FRITZ

Jan Marie Fritz is a professor at the University of Cincinnati (USA) in the School of Planning and affiliated with the Department of Women's, Gender and Sexuality Studies and the Department of Sociology.  She also is a Senior Research Fellow with the Centre for Sociological Research at the University of Johannesburg in South Africa and a special education mediator for the state of Kentucky (USA).  She is the president of the Clinical Sociology division of the International Sociological Association (ISA) and also a member of the ISA's Executive Committee.  In 2010, she received the American Sociological Association's Distinguished Career Award for the Practice of Sociology.  She is the author/editor of numerous publications including International Clinical Sociology (New York: Springer, 2008) and (with Sharon Doering and F. Belgin Gumru) "Women, Peace, Security and the National Plans" in the Journal of Applied Social Science (Spring 2011).
